The Mississippi College Speech & Debate Team has a longa nd successful tradition in collegiate forensics. MC students have won numerous team and individual awards over the last 80 years, dating to when the department was known as the Speech Department. Our focus is geared towards parliamentary and public debate through individual events, including platform speaking and interpretive reading. Competitive speech and debate teaches students to be an informed advocate for their ideas. Team members learn resolution analysis, critical thinking, case construction, and research and presentation skills. All Mississippi College students, regardless of major, are welcome to join the Speech & Debate Team. |
